Shannon Russell was born in Syracuse, New York and moved from Colorado to Tucson in 2001.

She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City and received her Mathematics degree from the University of Wisconsin. 

Shannon is a juried member of the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild and the Southern Arizona Arts Guild.
